Welcome to Nassau County Parks, Recreation and Museums
Please reference this guide when planning your activities for the 2020 Summer Season.
All Nassau County parks and preserves, including golf courses and driving ranges are OPEN, as are tennis, paddleball and handball courts, bocce ball and lawn bowling facilities.
Also OPEN are playgrounds, dog parks, rifle range and RV campgrounds at Nickerson Beach and Battle Row. You can apply for leisure passes and picnic permits at the administration building located in each park. Based on the New York State guidelines, gatherings of 25 or less are permitted for picnics. If you want to reserve your space, please contact the Park office. Usage of park facilities are subject to changes and cancellations based on New York State directives.
Nassau County’s Nickerson Beach at Lido is open to NASSAU COUNTY RESIDENTS ONLY. The park will be open from 9 AM to 6 PM, with lifeguards on duty, through September 7. Admission is with a driver’s license or leisure pass. $15 parking fee will apply. Seasonal Permits are available. Please refer to the Nickerson Beach link for further information.
In addition, we are pleased to announce the opening of the following:
|July 3||Pools at Cantiague, Christopher Morley, North Woodmere, Nickerson Beach and Wantagh (NASSAU COUNTY RESIDENTS ONLY)|
|July 6||Baseball and Softball fields throughout County parks|
Please note, batting cages will open shortly, once maintenance is complete.

While many park facilities and amenities are opening, we await direction from New York State to resume and open the following:
- Athletic Leagues
- Mini Golf
- Basketball Courts
- Summer Movies at Nickerson and Lakeside
All concerts at Eisenhower Park’s Lakeside Theatre have been suspended through July 19. Concerts scheduled for after July 19 will be contingent upon New York State and Nassau County directives. International Nights at the Lakeside Theatre have been cancelled, and no alternate dates will be scheduled. The Noontime Concert program at Eisenhower Park has been cancelled as well. The Long Island Fair at Old Bethpage Village Restoration has been postponed until 2021.
