Pay Delinquent Property Taxes

The Tax Records department of the Treasurer’s Office maintains all records of and collects payments on delinquent Nassau County Property Taxes. For the Towns of Hempstead, North Hempstead and Oyster Bay, this includes both the full General Taxes and School Taxes. The City of Glen cove handles their own School Tax delinquencies, so only delinquent General taxes from Glen Cove are paid to the County Treasurer. General and School delinquent taxes are also collected for the City of Long Beach, however only the County portion of the General Tax.

2023 Delinquent tax payments can be made online with a credit card (Visa or Mastercard only) or electronic check / ACH beginning on June 23rd, 2023. Tax liens can only be paid with certified check or cash and are not payable online. Delinquent tax payments can also be made by check via mail or by visiting our office at 1 West Street, Mineola NY. Checks are to be made out to the Nassau County Treasurer. We also accept cash payments in the office, please do not mail cash.  

The following dates are for payment of 2023 Delinquent taxes:

  • Credit Card payment                       6/23/23 – 2/9/24
  • Electronic Check/ACH                     6/23/23 – 1/31/24
  • Personal check                                6/1/23 – 11/30/23
  • Last day to pay before Lien sale      2/15/24
