[ARCHIVED] Legislator Abrahams, Glory House Recovery, Inc. Announce Return of Community Fall Outdoor Market

(BALDWIN, N.Y.) - For the first time since 2019, Nassau County Legislator Kevan M. Abrahams (D - Freeport) is inviting merchants, residents, organizations, and agencies to register for his seventh annual Community Fall Outdoor Market at the Baldwin LIRR Station.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, the open-air community market, which is co-sponsored by Glory House Recovery, Inc., will once again be bustling with an array of eclectic shopping opportunities spread along a quarter mile between Brookside and Milburn Avenues across from Freeport High School.

Prior to going on hiatus because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the event consistently attracted over 100 vendors. As in years past, vendor space is free; interested participants must register online at www.nassaucountyny.gov/LD1 by Wednesday, Oct. 12. Registration is required.

“It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost three years since we last held the Community Fall Outdoor Market, and I am delighted to be resuming a popular tradition that many residents looked forward to year after year,” Legislator Abrahams said. “Whether you want to promote your small business, raise awareness about your organization, or do a little bit of ‘fall cleaning’ by selling your new and gently used belongings, I encourage you to register today and become a part of this truly unique event.”

Setup begins at 8:30 a.m. the day of the event; space for registered participants is provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Space for food trucks in particular is limited due to their size. Participants must bring their own event-day amenities such as tables, chairs, tents and coverings.

Government agencies and organizations are also invited to become vendors and offer information about their respective services. Food vendors are also welcome but must first secure approvals from the Nassau County Board of Health and follow the agency’s food vending guidelines. For more information, call the Health Department at 516-227-9717 or visit www.NassauCountyNY.gov/1652/Health-Department
