He is the Vice Chair of the Rules Committee, and is a member of the Budget Review Committee. He has represented the 9th L.D. since the inception of the Nassau County Legislature.

Recognizing that Nassau residents pay some of the highest property taxes in the nation, Legislator Nicolello has consistently voted to hold the line on the county portion of the tax bill. He voted to repeal the Home Energy Tax and to cancel the previous administration’s planned 16.5% tax hike.

Legislator Nicolello has voted for public-private-partnerships that save the county millions each year, including more efficient and effective ways to provide bus transportation, operate Nassau’s sewage treatment facilities, and meet the medical needs of inmates at the county jail. Legislator Nicolello has supported reduction in the county’s work force and consolidation of county departments to achieve greater savings.

Rich Nicolello has delivered legislative grants to all of the communities he represents and has sponsored and supported programs and policies that make government work for the people. At the same time, Legislator Nicolello has consistently stood up for the residents and has fought proposals that threaten our communities.
