Rev. Arthur Mackey Sr. Park

REV. ARTHUR MACKEY SR. PARK, WITH A CENTRAL SOUTH SHORE LOCATION, is located by the Roosevelt Preserve and incorporates a beautiful lake along with numerous recreational activities. Arthur Mackey has been part of the county park system since 1984 and offers the following activities:

Athletics/Physical Activities:

  • There are two tennis courts;
  • two handball/paddleball courts;
  • two full basketball courts and four half-courts;
  • and a baseball field.


  • A new and large playground area provides a range of activities for youngsters.
  • There are both unreserved and reserved picnic areas (Leisure Pass and fee required for reserved areas; call 516-571-8692).


  • The lake at Rev. Arthur MacKey Park provides a beautiful setting for a stroll, a jog or some quiet time relaxing on one of the numerous benches that line the walkway.


To reach Arthur MacKey Park, take Southern State Parkway East to Exit 23/Meadowbrook Road (not Meadowbrook Parkway) South. Take Meadowbrook Road to Washington Avenue. Make a right onto Washington and take over the Parkway to Lakeside Drive (across from United Cerebral Palsy/UCP). Make a right onto Lakeside and go to the park entrance on the right.
