Prevention Programs

Department staff provides oversight and assistance to school and community-based prevention and treatment programs that offer direct services to students, families and communities in Nassau County. Services are available to students from kindergarten to grade 12, parents, staff and community members in many Nassau County school districts. Students and families receive chemical dependency information, education, and counseling services developed from research-based prevention strategies.

See Community-Based Treatment Agencies for programs that provide both treatment and prevention services. For information about programs available in schools, contact your school district.
