Plead Guilty to Parking Violation


If you plead guilty and wish to pay for your ticket, follow the instructions on the reverse side of the ticket. Sign the back of the ticket "I Plead Guilty" and enter your current address. A certified check, personal check, or money order must be made payable to the Nassau County Traffic and Parking Violations Agency (NCTPVA) and mailed to:

Payments must be received on or before the return date indicated on the ticket or additional late fees will be assessed. If you do not know the amount of the fine, you may send us the signed guilty plea and we will promptly mail you a balance due statement.

Plead Guilty with an Explanation for a Parking Violation

If you received a parking violation and would like to plead "Guilty with an explanation", which may result in a reduced fine, download the Plead Guilty with an Explanation for a Parking Violation form Do not send in any payment until you receive your offer in the mail.

Mail the completed form to :

Include a stamped self-addressed envelope.

Allow 3 months for normal processing before you contact us unless you receive some other notice from NC TPVA or DMV.

Plead Not Guilty to Parking Violation


To plead not guilty by mail, and request a supporting deposition, complete Part B including your current address on the reverse side of the traffic ticket sign your name and mail the ticket within 48 hours from receipt. If you do not require a supporting deposition, you may complete and sign Part B including your current address and mail the ticket to:

We must receive this on or before the return date of the violation. You will receive a conference notice for a date and time to appear. (Please note: A conference is a meeting between a traffic prosecutor and you or your authorized representative, to discuss your options).

Definitions

  • A supporting deposition is a written affirmation detailing the traffic violation and signed by the police officer.
  • A conference is a meeting between you and the traffic prosecutor to discuss a possible reduction of your ticket.

* Non-Appearance traffic tickets are tickets that do not require a mandatory appearance in court
