Employees in Nassau County departments, clients, and employees in community-based treatment agencies, as well as students, teachers, parents, and the general public all can benefit from our educational programs. Trainers are experienced, knowledgeable, and available to provide information on chemical abuse and many health-related issues.
Education & Training Activities
Training services vary according to the audience and the topic. For elementary through high school grades, activities include assembly programs, teacher in-service training, and presentations at parent-teacher association (PTA) meetings.
Program series can also be arranged on an individual basis at the request of a school district or for college presentations. Information is shared with the general public through public health fairs, distribution of literature, and in response to special requests. For chemical dependency professionals, a training calendar is distributed monthly via email.
If you have any questions or want to discuss training needs, call the Education and Training Unit at 516-227-7007 or 516-227-7028 and ask to speak to a trainer.
