WHERE TO OBTAIN IT
Nassau County residents 60 years of age and over are eligible for the specially-marked Senior Citizen Leisure Passport. Application must be made in person with proof of age and residency. The fee is $25.00 and is valid for as long as county residency is maintained. Residency must be revalidated every three years. There is no additional fee for renewal; however, the full fee must be paid to replace a lost or stolen Passport.

PARKS AND RECREATION BENEFITS
- Required for entrance to most Nassau County parks.
- Reduced rates on most activities in the Nassau County parks which charge a fee, such as pools, golf courses, and ice skating rinks. Reduction is valid on weekdays only for golf courses. Holidays are excluded.
- Certain discounts at some Nassau County museums.
- Seasonal Beach Parking Sticker for Eugene Nickerson Beach Park - Lido Beach. A Seasonal Beach Parking Sticker may be purchased at the beach by presenting the Leisure Passport and the automobile registration.

A Disabled Leisure Pass is available to Nassau County residents with chronic physical and/or mental disabilities. Persons applying for the Disabled Leisure Pass must provide proof of residency and must also complete a certification form (Click here for certification form). The form must be signed and stamped by a medical doctor or by the Nassau County Department of Health, with a description of the individual's disability.
Holders of this pass are eligible for the reduced fare program of the Nassau Inter County Express Bus System (NICE) and for discounted fees within the Nassau County Parks system. The Disabled Leisure Pass is $25 and is valid for three years.
Individuals may purchase a MetroCard for use on the Nassau Inter-County Express (NICE) bus system and for rides on the New York City Transit and MTA Bus lines. Senior citizens, 65 years of age and older, and persons with a qualifying disability may also be eligible for the Reduced Fare MetroCard, which entitles the holder to half fare on these systems.

This federally issued lifetime card entitles U.S. senior citizens, age 62 and over, to entrance into any National Park. It also entitles holder to a 50% discount on any fees for facilities and services such as camping, swimming, boat launching, and specialized interpretive services at federally administered areas.

The Empire Passport provides unlimited day use vehicle entry to most of New York’s state parks and recreational facilities. The sticker can be obtained for $65 by applying in person at any state park, calling, or completing an application on the website.
Senior citizens, 62 years of age and older, can show a New York State driver’s license or non-drivers I.D. to obtain free entrance to any New York State Park, Monday through Friday.
Several movie theatres in the County offer reduced admission rates for senior citizens. Some theatres issue their own cards for older persons and others will accept the Nassau County Leisure Passport or driver’s license as proof of age. Contact the theatre for specific information.
Some restaurants offer a discount or reduced price to senior citizens. Inquiries regarding discounts should be made before ordering.
EPIC - ELDERLY PHARMACEUTICAL INSURANCE COVERAGE
EPIC is a New York State program for income-eligible citizens, 65 or older, who need help paying for their prescriptions. EPIC enrollees are required to join a Medicare Part D plan. EPIC will help pay Medicare Part D premiums, deductibles, copayments, coverage gap, and off-formulary drugs. For more information, contact:

NASSAU RX PROGRAM
All Nassau County residents are eligible for the Nassau Rx Program, a free drug discount card that provides discounts on the cost of prescription medications that are not covered by other insurance programs.

TOGETHER RX ACCESS
This program provides a savings on many prescription and generic drugs and products. To qualify for a card, individuals must meet income eligibility guidelines, be a legal resident, and have no other prescription coverage of any kind, including Medicare.

Various local drug stores offer special discounts to older people. Some chain stores issue their own cards.
The Life Line programs offers a reduced rate on residential telephone service to persons who are eligible for any of the following benefits:
- Food Stamps
- Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP)
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Veteran’s Disability Pension (non-service related disability)
- Veteran’s Surviving Spouse Pension (non-service related disability)
